"Municipal Energy Company of Zaporozhye" (MECZ) supplies heat power and hot water for enterprises, objects of eductation and

health, including Regional clinical hospital of Zaporozhye and - the most important - housing sector of "Kosmicheskiy" and "Yuzhniy" districts, "Pilot station" of "Yuzhnoye" subcidiary economy, "Mokraya" military town.

The Company includes 9 boiler-houses, the total capacity of which is 461.2 Gcal/h, including:
     from 3 to 20 Gcal/h - 4 bouler-houses;
     from 20 to 100 Gcal/h - 3 boiler-houses;
     more than 100 Gcal/h - 2 boiler-houses.

Connected heat load for the heating comprises 212 Gcal/h, for hot-water supply - 34 Gcal/h. Length of heating systems is 124.48 km.

At MECZ there are operated computer-based system. There are operating software support with the newest program package for all services of MECZ.

Cogeneration unit on the basis of "Yuzhnaya" boiler house is the first pilot cogeneration unit in Ukraine (combined generation of heat and electric power), which is characterized with high rate of use of fuel heat and is one of the most effective energy-conservation objects.

Generation of electric power is fulfilled with gas-turbine unit (GTU) with the subsequent utilization in three hot-water boilers of heat of exhaust gases, and due to this the rate of use of fuel heat is 87 percent. Deep chilling of combustion gases with condensation of heat of covered evaporation increases the efficiency factor and raises heat rate of the boier house.

Major task of this object is heat supply and hot-water supply for "Yuzhniy" district with considerably reduction of heat losses during transportation, as well as electric power supply for budget organizations of Zaporozhye city.

MECZ includes in its structure "Zavodskoy heat supply company Co." (ZHSC), which provides heat power for heating and hot water supply for dwelling buildings of the sector, administration buildings, health and educational objects of zavodskoy district and "Zaporozhye-Levoye" settlement.

The major tasl of the company is uninterrupted hot water and cold water supply, exploitation of rent and own major assets, fulfillment of current and major repairs of the boilers' facilities and equipment, exterior heating systems and hot-water systems.

ZHSC company ltd. includes in its structure 8 boiler houses of installed capacity - 179.4 Gcal/h, including:
     Capacity till 3 Gcal/h - 1 boiler house;
     from 3 to 20 Gcal/h - 1 boiler house;
     from 20 to 100 Gcal/h - 1 boiler house;
     from 100 Gcal/h and more - 1 boiler house.
Out of them 5 boiler houses is gas-fired, 3 boiler houses is solid fuel-fired. Length of heating systems is 44 km.
